I’ve read many books by this Author in the past, and was looking forward to this one I was lent by a friend. It's a hard idea to consider, since many of us break laws or rules at some point in our lives. In the end, we are presented with tragic problems of whether it is forgivable when people break laws because they feel they have no choice. But it might be better to allow it in a controlled environment, although unfortunately, teenagers often don't like being controlled. I have mixed feelings, although in this time of lawyers everywhere, it's probably too risky.

This story involves a lot of high-school teenagers one of the big issues involves drinking, and whether it's better for parents to host a party serving alcohol at home, or allow the teens to drive to some possibly seedy part of town to find and drink the alcohol and then drive home. People were ruined by fake social media posts, and figuring out the who and why made for a great mystery. The story was complex with a lot to think about - forgiveness, vigilante justice, social media power to ruin lives (not to mention TV news' ability to do the same). She was squeezed into a coal black unitard that was like the nightmare version of Adrienne Bar-beau's in Cannonball Run. There were minor appearances by Win, a visit by the main character to see him at MB REPS where the "receptionist was the size of an NFL nose tackle. I think it had a lot going for it, with a bonus for fans of his Myron Bolitar series. Is this body one of the campers who disappeared with his sister? Could his sister be alive.? Confronting his past, Cope must decide what is better left hidden in the dark and what truths can be brought to light.I'm a bit of a Harlan Coben fan, so my opinion may be biased, but I liked this book a lot. but she is not Natalie - and Jake's world is turned completely inside out.Īnd if he doesn't make the right moves, the conspiracy he's stumbled into will not only ruin lives - it will end them.

There he gets the glimpse of Todd's wife he's hoping for. Until one morning her mother wakes to find that her seventeen-year-old daughter didn't come home the night before.īut six years haven't come close to extinguishing his feelings, and when Jake comes across Todd's obituary, he can't keep himself away from the funeral.
